Manufacturing Assembly Line Simulation Software

Manufacturing Simulation

With rising costs in manufacturing, it is important to make every effort to reduce bottlenecks, improve efficiency and utilize resources fully. Simcad Pro is a sophisticated dynamic simulation engine that can be utilized to improve the overall efficiency of an assembly line. Users of Simcad Pro have experienced increased efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy within their assembly lines, meaning increased profits. Additionally, staff allocation and shifts can be better forecast and analyzed, reducing the overall cost of the operation while increasing utilization of available resources.

Using Simcad Pro's patented dynamic simulation engine, managers, supervisors and other process improvement experts can perform analysis, detect delays and bottlenecks, and provide real solutions with ease. Simcad Pro brings the simulation technology to everyone involved without the use of code. Through a number of different features, Simcad Pro allows the users to create "what-if" scenarios, virtually modify the model (increase the number of conveyors, condense or move processes, etc...) and visually view the effect of each change within the simulation. Changes can be made "on-the-fly" while the simulation is still running. This capability of Simcad Pro reduces the time required to work on the model, analyze changes and come up with the most efficient environment.

In order to fully utilize all of the benefits of Simcad Pro, users have the capability to utilize live data (RFID, GPS, PLC/OPC, Barcodes, etc...) and historical data to enrich the mathematical accuracy of the model. Users can also import CAD layouts of assembly lines and warehouses, to ensure accurate travel distances for products, people and machines alike. Graphics can be imported on top of CAD layouts to increase accuracy of the model and presentation functionality.

With the simulation built and connected, different parameters such as timing, resources, capabilities, etc... can be imported from an external data source or input manually. With the model running, the user is able to visually observe where backups are occurring within the assembly line and where possible changes need to be implemented. Changes in the number of staff members, assembly line stations, responsibilities within stations, etc... can be made while the simulation is still running. The result of the implemented changes can be viewed immediately and changes can continue to be made until they produce the desired effect on the model. The "Simulation Analysis Report" provides a quick analysis of the model to identify poorly performing areas for resources and processes. This information can then be used to see where additional changes can be made within the assembly line in order to eliminate all deficiencies possible.

Advantages and Capabilities of Simcad Pro Simulator:

  • Import CAD layouts and information from Excel, databases, ERP, etc
  • Implement work schedules, including holiday schedules, for resources
  • Define multi-level components of input without the use of code
  • Create an optimal schedule of the movement and transfer of components in order to reduce delays
  • Assign multiple tasks to processes to mirror the assembly line
  • Make changes "on-the-fly" and see immediate effects through data and graphs
  • Generate and update data in real-time from the assembly line
  • Display simulation in full 3D view for a presentation
  • Add graphics to different resources and objects to improve the quality of presentation
